Landslides Block Kanti Lokpath and Araniko Highway
Heavy rainfall has caused landslides in several parts of Nepal, blocking five key roads. These include the Kanti Lokpath and the Araniko Highway.
A landslide hit Bharyangdanda in Bhimphedi Rural Municipality-8, Makwanpur, on Sunday morning. It has completely shut down the Kanti Lokpath, police said.
Another landslide occurred in Kodari, Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-2, Sindhupalchok. It disrupted traffic on the Araniko Highway.
In Lalitpur, a slide in Rumbadanda, Bagmati Rural Municipality-6, cut off the road linking Ashrang and Gimdi.
Khotang also saw major road damage. A landslide in Diprung Chuichumpa Rural Municipality-4 closed the Diktel–Gaighat road. In Halesi Tuwachung Municipality-10, another slide hit Barkhetar, blocking one lane of the Mid-Hill Highway.
In Dhankuta, a slide in Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality-5 shut down the Ravi–Ranke–Bhedetar road this morning.
